NBC Universal

Shaping product development through data

 OVERVIEW

Leading user and market research for top NBC products like CNBC, Telemundo, and TODAY

Collaborating with UX, CX, design, and product teams over the course of my academic year internship at NBC Universal, I have had the incredible opportunity to work on research projects across a range of different NBC products. I designed and conducted usability tests, user interviews, surveys, and web intercepts to gather exploratory data, evaluate the efficacy of new features, and assess year-over-year trends.

Internship highlights — so far

  • Generated data-driven product and marketing recommendations based on a competitive analysis user test for the Start TODAY app, which saw a 200% increase in app subscribers in 1 month

  • Analyzed 30+ user interviews during the 2024 US Election to benchmark NBC's performance against 5 leading news organizations, delivering a strategic usability improvement plan to increase audience retention for the next election

  • Prioritized product requirements for a new Telemundo OTT/SVOD service based on competitive analysis research and user testing, delivering a comprehensive, itemized list of user experience expectations for the MVP launch

  • Synthesized both quantitative and qualitative data from CNBC’s 2024 DTC Annual Subscriber Survey with over 3,000 respondents, and identified key YoY trends in renewal rates, customer satisfaction, and other metrics across the survey data from 2022, 2023, and 2024

The majority of the research I have conducted during my time at NBC has been for products that are currently still in the early stages of development. Please reach out to me to learn more about my work on these projects.
